A simple sketch since I’m still trying to familiarise myself with this whole socket/server business.
The persistence function adds quite a magical touch to the experience, where the viewer can see layers of colours coming to life every time they refresh. It reminds me of the mechanism of a Rothko painting, which is also heavily layered colour blocks with beautiful dimensionality. I wonder what would a Rothko on the web feels like.
Week 5:
As of right now I still haven’t figured out how to separate the up and down button, both buttons currently emit the same function. I also don’t like how the colors get muddy pretty quickly, so I need to look into color mod and color mixing on the web.

Thanks to Pauline, who gave me a thorough walkthrough of the code, I have a better understanding of how this work. I can kind of?? know?? where to add what. Then Dave (Stein) came in and helped with adding a counter to slow down the process, so the frame reload will come in gradually. The colours are still muddy from time to time, which is not my fave, but it’s surely a huge leap!
